An extraordinary success story.
When we first founded Elfit, more than 40 years ago, a seed was planted. From its shoot, roots and leaves sprouted, which grew to become a flourishing tree.
It takes firmly planted roots to become strong and resilient. And so it was for us: our territorial roots allowed us to nourish ourselves with the Italian know-how, technical skill, and craftsmanship that typically characterises our country.
We have grown to be solid and flexible, with a good mix of sturdiness and innovation.
We have transformed into a blossoming plant with flowers and fruits.
Timeline - Milestone
1977 Elfit S.p.A. is founded
By taking over the ALCON foundry, already a supplier to Cortem S.p.A., to internalise strategic foundry and mechanical machining processes.
A strategy that allowed us to strengthen our skills and influence in an important market such as that of watertight seals, and to propose complementary lighting solutions, for example fittings, cable glands, and junction boxes.

1979 Elfit grows
In just two years, Elfit doubles the number of sheds dedicated to the machining department, introducing turning machinery with equipped work cells.
1980 The first cable gland, TG, TGA series
The first TG, TGA cable gland is designed (later renamed FG, FGA) for armoured and non-armoured cables to meet the technical requirements of major companies in the Oil & Gas sector.
1982 Elfit makes its mark in the national market
Elfit products earn national recognition, becoming a qualitative and technological point of reference. Thanks to this positioning, Elfit begins supplying various competing companies in the Ex sector.
1990 The foundry department is enhanced
Elfit enhances its foundry department, switching to die casting technology, reserving shell mould casting to a few select products, investing in new technology with the introduction of multi-spindle turning and mechanical machining equipment.
1993 Elfit becomes a national leader
Elfit becomes a leading company in the national market for the supply of cable glands, electrical fittings, and junction boxes to major companies in the engineering and Oil & Gas sector.
1994 Quality system certification by DNV
Elfit’s commitment in terms of efficiency and reliability is recognised by DNV, obtaining quality system certification in accordance with the standard UNI EN 29002 (ISO 9002).
1996 Automation with the insertion of robotic work cells
The search for high-tech solutions leads Elfit to automate its die casting plant, inserting robots for the extraction of products and dimensional checks.
1998 Purchase of Fondisonzo
Elfit purchases one of its major national competitors, Fondisonzo.
1999 Elfit’s desire to innovate continues
The new FL series cable glands for non-armoured cables, and FAL series cable glands for double sealed armoured cables are designed.
2000 Quality guarantee
Elfit's technical expertise is recognised by the CESI laboratory with a product quality assurance notification pursuant to Directive 94/9 EC (ATEX).
2001 Elfit's solidity is further strengthened
Elfit receives UNI EN ISO 9001 certification issued by CSQ for its Quality Management System.
2002 Low pressure plant
Elfit further invests in its foundry department with the introduction of a LOW PRESSURE plant to develop products with a greater thickness and guarantee clients even higher quality.
2004 Elfit keeps growing
The new industrial shed is inaugurated with the new equipped assembly lines and 6,000 square-metre warehouse.
2006 Cortem Group
Elfit, Cortem, and Fondisonzo combine their respective skills to create Cortem Group, in order to internally manage the entire production process, striving to be one of the most expert, reliable, and competent players in a continuously evolving sector.

2014 New cable gland series
Elfit develops the new series of higher performing cable glands, REV, REVD, for armoured and non-armoured cables, characterised by a triple marking, ‘Ex d’, ‘Ex e’ and ‘Ex tb’, and the use of one sealing ring.

2017 Happy birthday Elfit!
Forty years have passed since the company’s founding, and its strength continues to be its ability to guarantee clients the most technologically advanced products for the safety of their electrical systems.
2018 Design and quality
Elfit presents the new series of cable glands for armoured and non-armoured cables, NAV, NEV. Featuring an ergonomic design and made with high-quality materials, cable glands in the NAV and NEV series can be used with the main electrical cables available on the market and in total compliance with international standards.
